We are a twelfth of the way through the year. With the festivities a dim memory and resolutions already receding in the rear-view mirror, a fresh marketing opportunity is looming: St Valentine's Day. Be prepared for pushy promotions of perfumes, pizzerias and Prosecco.
I find all the blatant commercialism quite irritating and trust that, as a Pilates enthusiast, you will stay strong (it's what we work on, after all) and thumb your nose at the siren calls of the marketing departments.
I do, however, recognise that some might wish to honour the higher motives of the occasion and so I feel it would be remiss of me not to mention the Pilates possibilities at this time of year. For example:
An online Pilates class could make an ideal gift for your beloved. After all, nothing says "I love you" like making them do The Hundred.
If you have more than one loved one, remember that I teach four classes each week, so you can give the same gift to up to four Valentines and keep them safely apart.
If you wish the gift to be anonymous (as tradition dictates), just drop me a line with the email address of the recipient and the invitation will be on the way to them, like an arrow from Cupid's bow.
If you don't feel like offering a class to anyone, why not treat yourself, as a demonstration of self-love?
Finally, don't forget that you need to build up your strength before the 14th. That front door isn't going to be easy to open with all those cards piled up against it.
If you do feel like embracing Pilates, why not join me at one of my online classes? I really would love to see you.
